R.J. Mendenhall was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Arrington Park. In fact, the Boston Greens right-hander was instrumental in his team's 2-1 victory over the Havana Metropolitanos. Frank Ulloa, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2079 draft, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-5. The losing pitcher was Avery Slade. The Greens are now 62-64.
Boston got a game-changing hit from Leonilde Tigre. The right fielder blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Mendenhall said, postgame.
