Behind the hitting of Jairo Cedillo, the Portland Dragons defeated the Kansas City Athletics, 7-4. Cedillo was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Dragons. The Dragons, at 19-19, sit in third place in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division.
With Portland leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Cedillo hit a fastball from Arturo Covarrubias for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 3-0.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Cedillo.
