Steve Pohlman propelled his team to victory over the San Francisco Friars. The final score was 5-3, St. Louis. Picking up the save was Phil Palgani, his 3rd. The first-place Gaedels hiked their record to 76-51.

St. Louis used a clutch at-bat from Dave Castanon to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Gaedels ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Steve did a good job of managing their lineup," said St. Louis manager Mak Dolnick.
