Cyclones Losers, 5-2, Versus Havana
|
The Havana Metropolitanos picked up a win at Estadio Latinoamericano, knocking off the Miami Cyclones, 5-2. Starting pitcher Benito Cossutta played a key role in the triumph. Andino D'Elia closed the door for Havana, picking up his 17th save of the year. The Metropolitanos improved their record to 52-74 by beating Miami.
David Higby took Miami hurler Chris Sposato deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Metropolitanos on top, 5-2. In all, Higby had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Cossutta said. "That's why you play the game."
