Juggernauts Use Late Rally to Win
|
In a tight tilt between Toronto and Brooklyn, pitcher Luis Basurto was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-2 Juggernauts win. Toronto pitcher Corey Kueck got the win. He's now 5-7. Terry Waters was tagged with the loss. The win makes Toronto 58-66.
The Juggernauts were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 2079 Rookie of the Year Award winner Matt Salmon landed a big blow. He turned a first pitch fastball from Terry Waters into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Molson Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Juggernauts home with a thrilling 3-2 win.
Salmon said his team "executed a good game plan."
