Gaedels Defeated, 5-3, After Portland Rallies
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Geri Rengifo, the St. Louis Gaedels lost to the Portland Dragons, 5-3. Rengifo went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. Portland pitcher Jose Contreras got the win, upping his record to 4-0. Tso-i Mak got the loss. Alberto Rosario wrapped it up, recording his 11th save.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Min-chor Ann came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing St. Louis pitcher Hector Roybal, he hit a 2-2 changeup for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Portland on top, 5-3.

After the game, Portland manager Greg Carpenter applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.

Portland raised its record to 64-61 with the win.
