Ballpark of Missouri hosted a classic slugfest.

Despite the exploits of catcher Tom Schwartzmiller, the Kansas City Athletics were beaten by the Portland Dragons, 13-12, in 11 innings. Schwartzmiller was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Portland is now 72-52.

Portland took the lead, 13-12, on Valerik Mirxayan's 18th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Kansas City pitcher Marco Moya in the top of the 11th.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Mirxayan.
