Metropolitanos Earn Late 6-5 Win
The Havana Metropolitanos defeated the St. Louis Gaedels, 6-5, at Veeck Park. Andy Gonzales, who finished 2nd in the EC in OPS with .962 last year, was a standout performer for Havana. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Josh Trejo closed the game out for Havana, earning his 6th save. This loss makes it 6 in a row for St. Louis.

Havana used the timely hitting of Hyuk Park to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Metropolitanos on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Gonzales said. "And the same is true when you lose."
