Friars Need Extra Frames to Get Past Twins
The San Francisco Friars faced a tenacious opponent in Cincinnati pitcher Bryan Szabo, but still scratched out a win at Cincinnati Grounds by a final score of 4-1 in 11 innings. Szabo went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Edwin Maes picked up the win in relief for San Francisco, while Macario Mendoza took the loss. The Friars have a one-game lead in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.

San Francisco used a timely hit from George Meilleur to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Friars ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
