Drooping Thunderbirds Lose 12th Straight
|
The St. Louis Gaedels dealt the Phoenix Thunderbirds a 6-3 loss at Veeck Park. Lloyd Brocklebank, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2078 draft, was 2 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Frank Hubert picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 8-2. Nick Crook was tagged with the loss. Now 48-73, Phoenix has dropped 12 straight.
Geri Rengifo drove in one run against the Thunderbirds. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put St. Louis in front, 4-3.
Phoenix manager Joe Busch, after yet another defeat, said: "Just different when you have that swimming feeling in your cranium. It's difficult to focus."
