Destroyers Take Down Titans, 3-2
San Diego and New York played a hard-fought contest.

San Diego got a strong outing from Juzo Matsumoto as the Destroyers defeated the New York Titans, 3-2, at Polo Grounds II. The Destroyers move to 45-77 with the win, while the Titans drop to 66-56.

Had Al Lindberg not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lindberg hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Destroyers.

"Both teams played hard," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt.
