Homer Hanes, who is tied for 10th in the EC in extra base hits with 16, led Havana to a triumph over Cincinnati. The final score was 5-4. The first baseman went 3 for 4, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 1 run and added 5 RBI. Josh Trejo sewed up the save, his 11th. With the victory, the Metropolitanos upped their record to 24-13.
Had Hanes not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Hanes hit a run-scoring single. The Metropolitanos took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Hanes.
