Red-Hot Dragons Win Again
|
The Portland Dragons handed the Minneapolis Vikings a loss at Minneapolis Grounds. The final score was 5-2. Major production was provided by Jordan Flores for Portland. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 1. He also added 1 walk. The second-place Dragons have won 8 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for Valerik Mirxayan, the 23-year old catcher . Mirxayan contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Portland up, 3-2.
Portland manager Greg Carpenter was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
