The Philadelphia Spectres beat the Santiago Avispas, 10-4, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Philadelphia second baseman Eddie Kelly, who is tied for 7th in the EC in total bases with 230, collected 2 singles and 1 double with 1 run batted in. John Guzik was the winner. He's now 3-4. The loser was two-time All-Star Jimmy Biair. Philadelphia is now 64-55.

Xavier Santa had a big bases-clearing double for the Spectres in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Philadelphia leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Rico Sustaita and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spectres ahead, 7-3.

"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Kelly told a local reporter after the game.
