Greens Earn 2-1 Win Versus Juggernauts
|
The Boston Greens faced a tenacious opponent in Toronto pitcher Fisko Loera, but still scratched out a win at Molson Park by a final score of 2-1 in 12 innings. Loera went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belonged to Jeremy Lanham in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Fabian Estrada took the loss for Toronto. The 'W' lifts Boston's record to 65-54.
Nelson Garcia came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Garcia. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
