The Dragons grabbed a win, 4-3, at Portland Park, overcoming a fine effort from Seattle pitcher Jimmy Cain. Cain went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Portland reliever Abel Downey was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dave Fife. Seattle drops to 1-3.

Portland got a knockout punch from Jairo Cedillo. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"This place was rocking at the end," Cedillo said.
