The Phoenix Thunderbirds got a marvelous performance from pitcher Carlos Torres. The left-hander kept the San Francisco offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Phoenix victory at Staples Field. Getting the save was Ko Morita, his 3rd. Phoenix, at 46-76, holds down last place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division.

Min-yul Lee, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lee contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Phoenix up, 4-1.

"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Lee told the Phoenix Times. "And padding the Phoenix win column."
