The Phoenix Thunderbirds put together a convincing win at Legednary Park, defeating the Denver Glaciers, 14-1. Billy Morf was one of the hitting stars. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for Phoenix. Wil Campos, who is tied for 2nd in the WC in complete games with 2, was the winner. He's now 11-6. The loser was Kevin Welsch. Phoenix is now 63-58, Denver 52-69.
With Phoenix leading 8-0 in the bottom of the third, Morf came up to bat against Denver pitcher Ning-qing Tsai. Morf hit a sinker to left-center for a grand slam home run. His 19th home run of the season put the Thunderbirds on top, 12-0.
Denver manager Todd Bleess summed up his team's performance in one word: "Godawful."
