Arrows Go Down to Defeat, 5-2
|
Las Vegas Aces starter Omezo Suyama was on his game, helping his team beat the Seattle Arrows, 5-2. The winner was Suyama. He threw 5.0 innings of 1-hit ball. The loser was Chua chay Niu. The save was credited to Cruz Ponce, his 26th.
Tyler Plantholt had a big 2-run home run for the Aces in the top of the second inning. With Las Vegas leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Chua chay Niu, who is tied for 3rd in the WC in innings pitched with 154.0, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 23rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aces ahead, 3-0.
"Omezo attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian.
At 74-47, the Aces claim first place in the Western Conference Eastin Division.
