The Houston Aquas faced a tough opponent in Tucson pitcher Tony Masso, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tesoro Stadium by a final score of 5-4. Masso went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Danny Mathews, who finished 2nd in the WC in wins with 16 in 2081, earned the save for Houston. With the win, Houston raised its record to 67-54.

Marco Feron's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the game tied, 3-3. The Houston left fielder hit a 2-run single off Fidel Flores to put the Aquas up.

"We did enough to win," said Feron.
