Portland Beaten, 7-5, by Santiago
The performance of Terry van de Belt proved critical in helping Santiago beat Portland, 7-5. The Avispas third baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Santiago reliever Divino Aljeroz picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Ryan Mena absorbed the loss. Santiago is now 71-47.

van de Belt had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Jimmy Witmer, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Avispas a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for van de Belt.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said van de Belt. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
