Feng Shuai, who is tied for 8th in the WC with a 8.7 K/9 rate, was terrific for the Tucson Toros in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Denver Glaciers. His performance earned Shuai rave reviews. The winning pitcher was Shuai, now 10-8. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Cody Sosnowski recorded the save for Tucson, his 27th of the season.
The Toros got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jose Pedroza. For the game, Pedroza was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 30th double of the season gave Tucson a 1-0 lead.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Pedroza.
The winning continues for Tucson, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
