Gaedels Trip Rangers, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
St. Louis turned a good performance from starting pitcher Ben Ford into a 3-2 triumph over the Buffalo Rangers in 10 innings at Veeck Park. With the victory, the Gaedels record stands at 72-47.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when St. Louis first baseman Tsuneteru Shimada, facing Ruben Filpo, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Gaedels the 3-2 win.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Ford.
