Friars Get 9-4 Win Versus Miami
The San Francisco Friars powered past the Miami Cyclones, 9-4, at Staples Field. Lyalya Markosiants provided some of the pop. The Natural was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. George Roscoe earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 9 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. With the win, the Friars improved to 51-68.

With San Francisco leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Markosiants hit a fastball from Victor Alonzo for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Friars ahead, 7-3.
