Senators Defeated, 6-3, After Toronto Rallies
|
The Toronto Juggernauts faced a tenacious opponent in Washington pitcher Monte Haworth, but still scratched out a win at The ESPN Zone by a final score of 6-3 in 14 innings. Haworth went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win was credited to Jesus Carbajal in relief. His record improves to 2-5. Chris Quickle took the loss. With this game in the books, Toronto is 53-64, Washington 47-72.
Toronto took a 5-3 lead on Chad Schoepp's 19th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Schoepp hit in the top of the 14th, left Washington pitcher Chris Quickle visibly frustrated.
Toronto manager Marc Arnold commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
