Buezo Stars as Athletics Top Friars, 11-9
The game was a shootout. To win it, the Kansas City Athletics had to outpace the San Francisco Friars. The final score was 11-9, Athletics. Neither team lacked hitting stars. For Kansas City, first baseman Jose Buezo was the foremost. He was 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The triumph makes Kansas City 10-27.

Buezo contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Kansas City in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 9-7, Buezo took a fastball from Jose Alonzo and stroked the home run to right-center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Athletics to leap in front, 11-9.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Athletics manager Joe Monagle. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
