Las Vegas pitcher Omezo Suyama did his part in helping his team beat the Santiago Avispas, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Suyama, now 10-3, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 10, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Las Vegas, now 57-60, holds down third place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.
Juan Carrizales, who is tied for 7th in the WC with a .398 on-base percentage, chipped in a 2-run home run for Las Vegas in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
