The Houston Aquas beat the Los Angeles Stars, 6-2. Houston pitcher and Washington, District of Columbia, native Slider Brooks led the way. Brooks yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 9. His record improves to 6-0. Ron Gelsomino earned his 7th save, after closing out the game.
Bobby Badeaux came through for Houston when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said Badeaux.
With the win, the Aquas have a record of 72-45.
