|
Phoenix right-hander Aaron Kopta helped his team edge Miami by the score of 2-1. Kopta kept the opposing lineup in check. Zhi-jan Law got the save, the 3rd for him this season. Phoenix is now 60-57, while Miami is 45-70.
The Thunderbirds got a big at-bat from designated hitter Karl Cooper. For the game, Cooper was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Phoenix a 2-0 lead.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Miami manager Chris Stephan.
