Kodiaks Eke Out 2-1 Win Versus Boston
|
The Alaska Kodiaks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Savino Dore, who muffled the Boston offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Kodiaks win at Tundradome. Dore, the winner, moves to 10-6. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Lan-fang Lai earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Alaska third baseman Alderaan Pike contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 106th hit of the season and put the Kodiaks ahead, 2-0.
"Tough loss," said Boston manager Matt Glazer. "Tough one to swallow."
The loss makes Boston 62-53.
