The San Diego Destroyers pinned a convincing loss on the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 9-3, at Legednary Park. Ju-ho Cheon was a main factor in the win. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for San Diego. At 43-72, the Destroyers find themselves in last place in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division.

San Diego designated hitter Edward Black contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 107th hit of the season and put the Destroyers ahead, 6-3.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Cheon told the San Diego Observer.
