Wolves Dumped, 6-4, by Minneapolis
|
The Minneapolis Vikings downed the Vancouver Wolves, 6-4. The hitting star was designated hitter Gentaro Arakawa. Arakawa was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Vikings. Benjamin Jones got credit for the win, improving to 8-10. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings. Joseph Stark was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Gilberto Cerda? The 25-year old third baseman Cerda stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Minneapolis up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
With the win, the Vikings have a record of 55-60.
