Kansas City Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The Las Vegas Aces got a sterling performance from pitcher Omezo Suyama, but the Kansas City Athletics still prevailed, 3-1. Suyama threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Bill McMillan. The last-place Athletics own a record of 34-81.
Marcos Sardinas came through with a big-time hit for Kansas City. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We busted our tails," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian. "But we came up short."
