Stars Lose as Dragons Stage Late Rally
Los Angeles wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Hector Bazaldua, falling to the Portland Dragons, 4-1. Bazaldua threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. At 60-55, the Dragons are currently third in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division.

Shigenobu Shimamoto, who led the WC in home runs with 52 in 2080, had a direct impact on the outcome. Shimamoto contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Portland up, 2-0.

"It was a good effort all around," said Shimamoto.
