Philadelphia Claims 7-4 Victory
|
No one was more impactful than Mike McKasson in the 7-4 Philadelphia win over Washington. McKasson, who is tied for 2nd in the EC with a .434 on-base percentage, went 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Uno Urquidez, the winning pitcher, is now 7-7. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 9 and walking 1. Divino Aljeroz recorded the save for Philadelphia, his 6th of the season.
McKasson contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Philadelphia in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, McKasson took a fastball from Rajam Masrani and stroked the home run to right. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Spectres to leap in front, 4-3.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said McKasson.
Philadelphia is now 59-52, while Washington is 45-68.
