Glaciers Clip Stars, 7-6
|
Los Angeles got a terrific game from left fielder Jose Gonzales. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Denver, 7-6. Gonzales went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Glaciers have a one-game lead in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division.
The Glaciers got a big at-bat from center fielder John Sauve. For the game, Sauve was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Denver a 7-6 lead.
"Good win," said Sauve. "Maybe some of the whiners in the clubhouse will pipe down for a little while now."
