Arrows Roll, 12-2, Over Avispas
Estadio Guillermón Moncada was the site for Western Conference action featuring the Santiago Avispas and Seattle Arrows.

The Seattle Arrows buried the Santiago Avispas, 12-2, under a barrage of hits. Hideji Yamanaka led the onslaught, going 3-for-5 for Seattle. The winning pitcher was fan favorite Jeong Lee. He tossed 106 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. Rikio Kaneko earned his 4th save in 4 chances.

With Seattle leading 9-2 in the top of the ninth, Yamanaka came up to bat against Santiago pitcher Mark Melnyk. Yamanaka hit a fastball to left for a bases-clearing double. His 35th double of the season put the Arrows on top, 12-2.

"When the other team makes a mistake," said Yamanaka, "you've got to make them pay."

The victory gives Seattle a record of 61-50.
