Baltimore Dismisses Toronto, 7-5
|
Toronto left fielder Matt Salmon was sensational. He was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Baltimore beat the Juggernauts, 7-5. Baltimore now sits at 55-55, while Toronto falls to 46-63.
Baltimore center fielder Francisco Mateus contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 106th hit of the season and put the Kings ahead, 6-1.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Mateus told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
