Vancouver beat Los Angeles at Stars Ballpark, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder John Woodward. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs. Rikio Kaneko, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. Vancouver is last in the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division with a record of 45-66.

Dave Castanon had a big solo home run for the Wolves in the top of the ninth inning. With Vancouver leading 4-1 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Michael Daubner and swatted a home run to center. It was his 12th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolves ahead, 5-1.

"Time to decompress after a tough win," said Castanon.
