Dragons Suffer 6-2 Loss to Vancouver
|
Vancouver turned a good performance from starting pitcher Li-hong Ho into a 6-2 triumph over the Portland Dragons at Fox-Chong Park. Ho picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-6. Vancouver, at 56-54, holds down third place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.
Chaim Dijkstra had a big 2-run double for the Wolves in the bottom of the second inning. With Vancouver leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from Yandri Vido, who is tied for 4th in the WC in strikeouts with 144, and swatted a double to center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolves ahead, 3-0.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Vancouver skipper Zach Meinen.
