Rangers Scratch Out 1-0 Win
|
Vinny Valdez could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Washington Senators lost, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Buffalo Rangers at Bison Stadium. Pablo Alvarez earned the win to go to 8-2. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 9 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Phillip Dalley earned his 2nd save in 7 chances.
Rafael Vasco, who finished 4th in the EC in RBI with 113 last year, chipped in a solo home run for Buffalo in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"We did just enough to win," Vasco said.
Buffalo is now 59-51.
