Avispas Rally to Win, 4-3
|
No one was more impactful than Homer Hanes in the 4-3 Santiago win over Minneapolis. Hanes, who finished 2nd in the EC in home runs with 40 in 2083, was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. The win went to Aaron Ranks in relief, making him now 4-5. Torvald Bakker took the loss for Minneapolis. Santiago is now 58-52, Minneapolis 65-46.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Santiago designated hitter Innis Walker, facing Katsuo Nozawa, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Avispas the 4-3 win.
In postgame remarks, Walker simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
