Thunderbirds 4-2 Winners Over Las Vegas
|
Phoenix pitcher Jay Barrientos did his part in helping his team defeat the Las Vegas Aces, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Phoenix reliever Armando Montoya was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Joe Drum took the loss. Earning his 6th save for Phoenix was Zhi-jan Law.
Billy Morf, who finished 4th in the WC in stolen bases with 48 in 2080, took Las Vegas hurler Omezo Suyama deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Thunderbirds on top, 2-1. In all, Morf had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Morf.
Phoenix goes to 56-54, Las Vegas to 68-43.
