Kodiaks Rally to Win, 3-2
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Alaska Kodiaks and Miami Cyclones.
The Miami Cyclones could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ed Rice into a win. Instead, the Alaska Kodiaks prevailed, 3-2, in 11 innings. Rice threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball. The losses continue to mount for Miami, which has now dropped 9 in a row.
Alaska took a 3-2 lead on Tillmam Velado's 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Velado hit in the top of the 11th, left Miami pitcher Clement Powell visibly frustrated.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Velado.
