The Brooklyn Browns dealt the San Francisco Friars a 5-0 loss at Brown Town. Billy Buelna, who led the WC in doubles with 56 in 2081, went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. Terry Waters picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Kiyohiro Kaneshiro was tagged with the loss. The win puts Brooklyn at 59-51 this season.
Jorge Ojeda had a big run-scoring double for the Browns in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Brooklyn leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Kiyohiro Kaneshiro and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Browns ahead, 2-0.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Ojeda, "one at-bat at a time."
