Metropolitanos Reel Off Another Win
|
The Havana Metropolitanos got a magnificent performance from pitcher John McFadyen, who muffled the Cincinnati offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Metropolitanos win at Estadio Latinoamericano. McFadyen yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 13-4. Avery Slade wrapped it up, recording his 24th save.
Alex Arias drove in one run for Havana. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Ray Hibler. It was his 30th RBI of the season.
"John can bring it," said Havana manager Kevin Mayerhofer.
The Metropolitanos improved their record to 66-44 by beating Cincinnati.
