The Cincinnati Twins wasted an inspired, 6.1-inning effort from starter Tony Hernandez, falling, 2-1, to the Maine Lobster at Ballpark of Portland. Maine pitcher Chris Maxwell got the win, upping his record to 6-2. Macario Mendoza got the loss. With the win, Maine pushed its record to 61-48.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Maine. That's when Carlos Sosa hit a solo home run off former first round draft pick Macario Mendoza to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Sosa said.
