Vikings Win, 7-3, Versus Denver
|
Mountain Dew Park was the site for Western Conference action featuring the Denver Glaciers and Minneapolis Vikings.
The Denver Glaciers got a superb performance from pitcher Raul Garibaldi, but the Minneapolis Vikings still won the game, 7-3. Garibaldi threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Minneapolis reliever Katsuo Nozawa picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Roger Kuilan took the loss.
Minneapolis took a 6-3 lead on Omar Ozoa's 11th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Ozoa hit in the top of the eighth, left Denver pitcher Mike Pechtel visibly frustrated.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Ozoa said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
The first-place Vikings now have a win-loss record of 62-48.
