Phantoms Win 4th Straight, Take Down Arrows, 5-2
|
2085 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Seattle Arrows.
Trevor Laverick, who is tied for 9th in the WC in innings pitched with 135.0, had a strong outing for the Chicago Phantoms against the Seattle Arrows at Foster Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Laverick got the win, improving to 7-3. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run.
Andres Trevino had a big 3-run home run for the Phantoms in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Fai Kuang and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Phantoms on top, 5-1.
"The vibe's good," said Chicago manager Sam J. "We've got to keep it going."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Phantoms.
