Kansas City and Portland got after it at Ballpark of Missouri.

The Kansas City Athletics stymied the Portland Dragons, 6-2, at Ballpark of Missouri. Sean Waterhouse had a good day at the plate. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Kansas City. Al Joly, the winner, improved to 4-0. He held the Dragons to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2.

Kansas City took a 4-2 lead on Waterhouse's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Yahya Kanoro in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Kansas City to the win.

"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Waterhouse told the Kansas City Chronicle.

At 21-16, Kansas City is in third place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division.
