Houston Earns 3-2 Win
|
Houston and Los Angeles played a hard-fought contest.
The Los Angeles Stars got a sterling performance from pitcher Hector Bazaldua, but the Houston Aquas still prevailed, 3-2. Bazaldua threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. With the win, Houston pushed its record to 21-14.
Houston used the timely hitting of Edgar Albuja to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aquas on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We busted our tails," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers. "But we came up short."
