Tucson Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
Starting pitcher Edwin Munoz fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Denver Glaciers stymie the Tucson Toros, 4-0. Munoz, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The Glaciers, at 21-14, lead by one game in their division.
Alex Guilzar, who led the WC in extra base hits with 94 in 2078, took Tucson hurler Tony Masso deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Glaciers on top, 2-0. In all, Guilzar had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Munoz.
