Arrows Earn 7-4 Win Versus Minneapolis
|
The Seattle Arrows defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 7-4, at Power Ballpark. Lucas Pamatz, who led the EC in wins above replacement with 7.4 in 2078, was a standout performer for Seattle. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. The winning pitcher was Kevin Voda. He's now 2-3. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits for the Arrows. The win puts Seattle at 14-21.
Danny Nieto had a big bases-clearing double for the Arrows in the bottom of the second inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Hawes and swatted a double to left. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Arrows ahead, 4-0.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Pamatz. "I just want to win ballgames."
