Behind the bravura of first baseman Lanny Tabares, the Maine Lobster topped the St. Louis Gaedels by the score of 9-5. Tabares was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Lobster. Ted Ayres, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 3-2. Masato Nishihara closed the game out for Maine, earning his 6th save.

Carlos Sosa had a big bases-clearing double for the Lobster in the bottom of the third inning. With Maine leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from top prospect Carter Commiskey and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lobster ahead, 7-3.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Tabares told the Maine Times.

With the win, Maine upped its record to 19-15.
