Destroyers Defeat Athletics, 3-1
|
The San Diego Destroyers beat the Kansas City Athletics, 3-1, in 11 innings. San Diego pitcher and Nashville, Tennessee, native Keaton Bozek led the way. The Destroyers saw their win-loss record go to 15-20. At the same time, the Athletics fell to 20-16.
The decisive blow was delivered by Edward Black in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off 26-year old left-handed pitcher Marco Moya to win the game for San Diego. The home crowd went nuts.
"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Black.
